There are certain things you must
not do if you don't want search engines to drop your
site entirely from their index.
ONE. Do not create
multiple copies of the same web page, hoping that
they will appear multiple times in search engine
results. The same applies to mirror sites, or sites
that have different domain names but the same contents.
TWO. Do not stuff
any part of your web page with lists of repeating
keywords. This process is known as “Keyword
Stacking” and can result in your site receiving
a lifetime ban from all the major search engines!
THREE. Some people
add keyword lists to their web pages using very small
fonts, or in the same color as the background so
that they are invisible to the viewer. Search engines
now read in plain language – this means regardless
of the color you select, the search engines are likely
to read it and identify it as Spam!
FOUR. Don't set up
doorway pages that contain unreadable keyword-heavy
content for search engines to index. Such pages usually
quickly redirect to human-readable pages automatically.
Redirections are often forbidden and can result in
a sever ranking penalty.
FIVE. Though we have
said it earlier, it is still worth repeating. Do
not create a number of web sites to fake a network
of mutual links between them to artificially create
link popularity. Cross-linking with off-topic sites
will not help, it will push you toward the bottom
of the pile.
These are just a sample of things
you or your SEO
service provider must not do. Play fair and do
not attempt to trick search engines.
Spam Warning
Ever since search engine algorithms
have been written there have been individuals who
have used 'tricks' to abuse them. This is referred
to as 'spamming'. It has included such devious tactics
as placing multiple keywords in a color that matches
the background (e.g. non-visual to the human eye
but the spiders read them), submitting your site
multiple times at a high frequency to the search
engine, multiple URL's pointing to the same pages,
the use of Doorway pages (pages optimized for a single
keyword that re-directs to the 'real' target page)...
the list goes on and on.
Therefore, the algorithms have increased
their complexity to scout out such deviant acts.
When the spiders identify spamming techniques, the
corresponding page will be penalized. The penalty
could be a simple reduction in rank score or in some
cases, all out removal from the search engine directory.
Simply put – DON’T
DO IT!
